We are representing a leading national law firm with one of Australia's strongest Commonwealth Government practices. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for high-performing lawyers to join a highly regarded Administrative Law team.
The Role
Working as part of a collaborative national practice, you'll act for Commonwealth Government agencies on complex and high-profile administrative law matters. This role offers excellent advocacy opportunities, direct client exposure and the chance to work closely with recognised leaders in the field.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing a caseload of merits and judicial review matters before the Administrative Review Tribunal, Federal Circuit and Family Court, Federal Court and High Court.
- Advising clients on litigation strategy and prospects.
- Preparing evidence, submissions and court documents.
- Appearing as a solicitor advocate where appropriate.
- Briefing and instructing counsel.
- Building solid relationships with government clients while working closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers.
About You To be successful, you will have 2 years post admission. experience in either public or administrative law with a litigation focus. Additionally, you will have:
- A genuine interest in advocacy and appearing before courts and tribunals.
- Excellent drafting, analytical and advisory skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A desire to further your career within a leading government practice.
