Position Summary In addition to the outcomes delivered by the Head of Channel Development - The Network Development Manager is crucial in supporting the planning, expanding, optimizing and management of the AVATR / CHANGAN sales and service network. The role focuses on ensuring market coverage, improving dealership performance, maintaining brand standards and supporting sustainable business growth through effective network development strategies. Key Responsibilities
Network Planning & Expansion
Support the planning and optimisation of CHANGAN & AVATR Australia dealer network by assessing network performance, future requirements and opportunities to strengthen dealer representation across Australia
Build and maintain robust relationships with current and prospective Dealer Partners, providing guidance on network matters and supporting positive commercial outcomes
Manage end-to-end dealer lifecycle activities, including dealer appointments, onboarding, franchise agreement renewals, variations, terminations and dealer change requests
Monitor dealer compliance with franchise agreements, operating standards and policies, working with internal stakeholders and dealers to implement corrective actions where required
Lead the delivery of AVATR & CHANGAN Australia Visual Identity (VI) and facility programs, partnering with dealers and vendors to drive project execution, compliance and network enhancement initiatives
Dealer Selection & Onboarding
Assess prospective dealers based on financial capability, operational strength, and brand alignment.
Lead dealer appointment and onboarding processes.
Negotiate dealer agreements and contractual terms.
Coordinate dealer launch activities and facility readiness.
Dealer Performance
Management
Monitor dealership KPIs, including: Sales volume
Profitability
Customer satisfaction (CSI/NPS)
Inventory performance
Aftersales performance
Conduct performance reviews and audits.
Develop corrective action plans for underperforming dealers.
Skills and Experience
Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
Experience in dealer network, franchise, automotive or other multi-site business environments, with a strong understanding of dealer operations and commercial performance drivers
Demonstrated experience in dealer network planning, development, performance management or franchise administration
Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret data, identify opportunities and assess business risk
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence independent business partners
Experience managing franchise, compliance, facility, visual identity or network standards programs, with an understanding of contractual and regulatory obligations
