Role Description The Boilermaker role at Loftus Contracting Pty Ltd is a full-time, on-site position based in Callemondah, QLD. Day-to-day responsibilities include fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components used in civil construction projects, such as frames, pipes, and equipment. The Boilermaker will interpret drawings and specifications, measure and cut materials, weld and fit components, and perform quality checks to ensure work meets project and safety standards.

The role also involves collaborating with site supervisors and other trades, maintaining tools and equipment,



and adhering to all workplace health and safety procedures. Participation in site-based tasks and occasional support for broader construction activities may be required to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

Trade qualification as a Boilermaker or Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication) or equivalent, with demonstrated experience in heavy fabrication and repair.

Proficiency in welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, flux-core, stick) and use of cutting and grinding equipment, with solid metal fabrication and fitting skills.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications, with solid measuring, layout, and quality inspection capabilities.

Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements, including safe work practices in construction and industrial environments.

Previous experience in civil construction, mining, industrial, or infrastructure projects is highly regarded.

Current driver’s license; relevant high-risk work licenses (e.g., EWP, forklift) and confined space or working at heights tickets are advantageous.

Reliable work ethic, ability to work in a team and independently, and willingness to adapt to changing site and project requirements.

Physical capacity to perform manual tasks, including lifting, working outdoors in varying conditions, and operating on active construction sites.
