Our flagship Century project in Queensland stands as Australia's largest tailings remining and processing operation.
We're looking for an experienced Boilermaker (Hydro) to join the Mechanical Maintenance team. This is a FIFO opportunity on 15 days on, 13 days off roster, offering the chance to work on a diverse range of fabrication, maintenance and plant upgrade projects within a dynamic mining environment. About the Role
As a Boilermaker (Hydro), you will undertake a broad range of fabrication, maintenance and refurbishment activities to support the ongoing operation and development of the processing plant. Your work will include the fabrication, installation and repair of piping systems, structural steel and mining equipment while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate, repair and install pipework, chutes, bins, platforms, stairs, vessels and associated plant infrastructure.
- Perform general boilermaking activities including welding, grinding, cutting, polishing, pressing, cropping, heat treatment and stress relieving.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabricate components to specification.
- Complete piping layouts and precision fit-up for plant upgrades and new infrastructure.
- Support refurbishment and maintenance activities across the processing plant.
- Maintain equipment and tools in accordance with manufacturer and site requirements.
- Operate forklifts, cranes and other mobile equipment where appropriately licensed and authorised.
- Complete work in accordance with planned schedules, quality standards and project requirements.
- Conduct task risk assessments and ensure all work is performed safely.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
- Undertake other duties within your trade and skill set as required.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Trade qualification as a Boilermaker/Fabricator.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence.
- Minimum five years' experience in boilermaking with a strong mechanical maintenance background.
- Experience working within mining, mineral processing or heavy industrial environments.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans.
- Strong fabrication and welding skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
