Bricklayer Ekam Chahal Pty Ltd Bricklayer (ANZSCO 331111) Full-time/Permanent $80,000–$85,000 per annum (salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience) Duties and Responsibilities:

- Examine plans, drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures.
- Prepare work areas and erect scaffolding where required.
- Set out brick and block work using measuring equipment, plumb lines and spirit levels.
- Prepare, mix and apply mortar and other bonding materials.
- Lay bricks, concrete blocks, pre-cut stone and other building blocks in mortar.
- Construct and repair walls, partitions, arches, foundations, retaining walls and other structures.
- Cut, shape and fit bricks, blocks and stone using hand and power tools.
- Check the alignment, level and vertical accuracy of structures during construction.
- Apply damp-proofing materials and install flashings where required.
- Repair and replace damaged bricks, blocks, mortar joints and masonry structures.
- Clean excess mortar and complete finishing work, including jointing and pointing.




- Interpret building plans and ensure work complies with project specifications and applicable building standards.
- Estimate quantities of materials required for assigned projects.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and structural requirements are met.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and protected work area.
- Coordinate with supervisors, tradespeople and other workers to complete projects efficiently.
- Perform other duties associated with bricklaying and masonry work as required.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Applicants with a relevant AQF Certificate III or higher qualification in Bricklaying, Blocklaying or a related field must demonstrate at least one year of relevant experience.
- Applicants without a relevant formal qualification must demonstrate at least three years of relevant experience as a Bricklayer or Blocklayer.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret building plans and specifications.
- Sound knowledge of bricklaying techniques, construction materials and workplace safety requirements.
