Business Development and Support Coordinator Lurnn (WA or VIC) - Work from Home / Hybrid Full-time
Right. Real talk first. The clichés. Every job ad has them! “A team player. A wearer of many hats. A self-starter with a can-do attitude.” type stuff.
Yeah. We've heard them all before too. We don't like them either. So we haven’t put them in our ad hoping you won't put them in your application. Deal?
Who Are We?
We’re Lurnn, the team behind West Coast Property Training, one of WA’s best-known property training providers, and now launching in Victoria. Put simply, we think we offer the best real estate training in the country. We’re 21 years in, and we’re kind of fanatical about being in a constant state of improvement. We are now almost entirely online – so this means (mostly) working from home! We're small on purpose. No layers of management to get lost in. We’re a tight team who actually know each other, and know our students. "Professional Education, Personally Delivered" isn't a slogan; it's genuinely how we operate, and it only works if the people doing it actually care. That's the bit we hire for.
What’s the job?
Effectively, this job is sales, support, and related admin. You'll spend your days...
- In sales. Speaking with prospective students, existing customers and industry contacts. Helping people find the right training. Sometimes they will call you, often you will call them. You will follow up opportunities and make sure every customer walks away thinking, "I’m glad I called."
- In support and related admin,
looking after and supporting our existing customers and their training needs. You’ll be there to make support feel….supportive.
You’ll be the current ‘face’ of the business. The person that answers the phone when it rings. Responds to the email when it dings. While this isn't a hard-sell role, selling is absolutely at its core. We are about having genuine conversations, listening, understanding what people need and matching them with training that will make a real difference to their business or career.
In no particular order, you’ll be
- Growing our business by helping our customers find the training that's right for them, turning enquiries into happy students.
- Picking up the phone with a smile (yes, people can hear it).
- Proactively making calls to generate new business.
- Keeping on top of the day-to-day admin, including enrolments, phones, emails and customer records.
- Troubleshooting learning platform and login issues.
- Owning every enquiry from start to finish while delivering the kind of customer support people remember.
We're not looking for a stereotypical salesperson. We're looking for someone who enjoys talking to people, asks great questions, genuinely cares about customers and is happy to pitch in wherever needed.
We care a great deal about our customers. We need you to, too. We have staff in WA and in VIC – so this position could be either. Ideally though, at least initially, you’ll need to work WA business hours for at least part of the working week. If you’re VIC based it’ll likely include some WA travel, and some days from our video studio in Cheltenham. If you’re WA based, you’ll predominantly work from home after some initial training.
You'll probably enjoy this role if you:
- Genuinely like talking to people and solving their problems
- Enjoy sales but prefer helping over hard selling
- Are confident picking up the phone and starting conversations
- Follow things through and don't let tasks slip
- Are organised and pay attention to every little detail
- Pick up new technology quickly
- Don't need someone hovering to stay on track
- Know when to ask for help (hint: it’s always)
- Take the outcome seriously. Take yourself considerably less so.
- Like working from home, but as part of a small team.
Real estate or property management experience and qualifications are interesting to us, but certainly are not required.
What’s Next?
So, what do you think? Sound like you? Want to know more? Good. Then let's skip straight to the part where you apply. Send us your resume and a cover letter - just not the one you've already sent to five other job ads. Give us something fresh. Something that makes us go "ooh wow, we need to call them."
And then we will.
