AutoCAD Draftsperson - Curtain Wall / Façade The Company An opportunity has become available with an established commercial Facade Contractor. This is an Adelaide based company with more than 20 years experience in Facade design, fabrication, and installation. The company deals with a large variety of projects valuing from $50,000 to $10,000,000 and is a market leader in the industry and thrives to be the best.
With continuous growth, the company is looking to further expand its Design Department.
The Role
You will report to the Construction Manager and work alongside other draftsman in the design department to produce CAD details of façade systems based on construction drawings.
Duties for this role will include, but not limited to:
- Shop drawing/fabrication drawing preparation using AutoCAD
- Assist in project administration, eg. document control and issuing documents on Aconex
- Manage the drawing protocols and cad file system
- Communicating with builders, architects, engineers etc.
- Provide assistance to construction managers, project managers and other office staff
You will need to possess the following skills and knowledge as a minimum:
- Minimum 2 years CAD drafting experience in the construction industry
- Excellent AutoCAD skills and be capable of delivering quality CAD drawings to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- You must be a team player, self-starter, highly motivated and switched on with a sense of urgency.
Having experience and skills as below will be an advantage, but not essential:
- Drafting experience in curtain wall façade, aluminium windows/doors
- Drafting experience using 3D modelling software, eg. Solidworks/Inventor
- Positive knowledge of façade design principles
- Good knowledge of glass design principles
