POSITION DESCRIPTION: CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN - Professional and Testing Services
1. MISSION OF EMPLOYEE To develop skills through on-the-job training in all areas of Fuel Calibration Services; FCS Services include instrumentation and meter calibration/testing and may include providing assistance to Tanker Repair Services operations.
To operate in a safe and environmentally responsible fashion at all times and observe the highest possible standards of excellence and integrity.
2. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION To continue training as a Calibration Technician who will be responsible for the effective execution of operational tasks, in particular, calibration of instrumentation and inspection. To meet FCS Manager’s instructions which comply with the clients requests in accordance with the following: ISO 9002, ISO 17025, Trade Standards, NATA requirements and the Ministry of Environment and Health Regulations.
3. KEY RESULT AREAS a. To assist in the operation and maintenance of an accredited NATA Laboratory keeping up to date with technical developments as a NATA Signatory. In addition, assist with the maintenance and implantation of the company Quality Management System to ISO 9002 and ISO17025 and lab-related documentation, recording non-conformances and implementation of corrective action when necessary. Communicating any developments to the Manager.
If required, assist with internal quality audits, recommend changes if necessary.
Support other technicians/staff when required.
Identify relevant quality and technical related training needs and organise/deliver training to other personnel when appropriate.
To always operate and follow OHSE, Technical, Quality Assurance procedures and policies to guarantee the highest quality of results.
To operate in an environmentally responsible fashion and observe the highest possible standards of excellence and integrity.
To be well versed with the requirements of the maintenance necessary for all lab and test equipment, ensuring proper qualification and maintenance. Identifying and discussing the acquisition of new equipment with Director
7. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS The job requires :
– Effective written and verbal communication skills
– Current Drivers Licence
– Friendly and pleasant disposition
– Ability to work without supervision
– Excellent attention to detail
– Good organizational skills
– The use and understanding of Microsoft Outlook/Excel/Word.
– Physical fitness and valuable health
– Work flexible hours as required sometimes without sufficient prior notice
As this is a ‘hands –on’ position and requires flexibility in hours worked. Due to the nature and diversity of FCS business, this may involve some offshore duties as well as local and interstate travel.
Accordingly, it is expected that the employee display a high level of motivation towards achieving the requirements of the job.
