Central Coast Local Health District is looking for motivated and customer-focused Switchboard Operators to join our dedicated 24/7 Communications team, supporting healthcare services across the Coast.

About the Opportunity

As a Switchboard Operator, you will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing calls across multiple Central Coast Local Health District sites, including Gosford, Wyong, Woy Woy and Long Jetty, while also supporting Child and Family Health and Community Health Centres.

This is not your average switchboard role - you will be at the heart of hospital operations, connecting patients, clinicians, emergency responders and support services while playing a vital role in ensuring our hospitals and community health services operate safely and efficiently.

In this role you will:

- Delivering outstanding customer service with every interaction, coordinating paging services and critical communications via telephone, pager and two-way radio.
- Support medical and non-medical emergency responses by following established emergency communication procedures.
- Maintain and interpret on-call rosters to ensure the right people are contacted at the right time.
- Providing accurate, timely and confidential communication during routine operations and emergency situations.

- Outstanding communication and customer service skills, with a calm and professional approach.
- The ability to remain composed and make sound decisions in high-pressure or emergency situations.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- Confidence using computer systems and learning new communication and paging technologies.
- Flexibility to work a rotating 24/7 roster while contributing positively to a supportive team environment.
