Our much-loved Centre Cook is retiring after more than 10 years with Magill Campus & Community Children's Centre, creating a rare opportunity for an experienced childcare cook to join our team.
If you already work in an early learning service, you'll know that not every centre is the same. Some kitchens are expected to produce quality meals with unrealistic budgets, limited resources and little recognition for the key role they play.

About the role
You'll independently manage the Centre kitchen,
preparing fresh morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for up to 63 children each day.
Responsibilities include
- Planning nutritious and varied seasonal menus
- Preparing fresh meals and snacks each day
- Catering for allergies, intolerances and cultural dietary requirements
- Ordering food and kitchen supplies
- Managing stock and kitchen budgets
- Maintaining food safety and compliance requirements
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and welcoming
- Working collaboratively with educators to promote positive food experiences for children
About you
We're looking for someone who understands the unique role of a childcare cook and enjoys creating healthy meals that children love.
You'll bring
- Previous experience as a Childcare Centre Cook or similar role
- Strong knowledge of food safety and nutrition for young children
- Experience managing allergies and specialised dietary requirements
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Confidence working independently
- A positive, friendly approach and pride in your work
