The Role

Your role is vital to the success of our service, and we look forward to working with someone who takes pride and joy in sharing their knowledge and culinary skills with the Insight family. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and preparing fresh, nutritious meals and snacks that meet children's dietary needs and food safety requirements. A typical day would look like:

- Planning and preparing fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for children.
- Catering for individual dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences.
- Monitoring and reviewing menus to ensure they are balanced, varied, and suitable for young children.
- Managing food supplies, ordering stock, and helping to minimise food waste.
- Following all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and well maintained at all times.
- Building positive relationships with children, families, and your teammates.




- Working closely with the centre team to support children's learning through food and cooking experiences where appropriate.
- Working as part of a friendly team to create positive and enjoyable mealtimes for the children.

What You Will Bring

To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen, childcare setting, or similar environment.
- A current NSW Working with Children Check (or be able to obtain one before starting).
- A current Food Handling Certificate and Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
- A strong understanding of food safety, kitchen hygiene, and safe food handling practices.
- A genuine passion for preparing healthy, nutritious meals for young children.
- A positive, friendly, and caring attitude.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team.
