Client Service & Administration Officers- APS4/5 - NV1 required ACT Government Contract(Full Time) 12-month APS4/5 chance in Barton managing client enquiries and sensitive applications. Australian citizenship and NV1 essential.

- 12-month Federal Government contract with extension potential - Australian citizenship and current NV1 clearance essential McArthur is seeking an experienced Client Service and Administration Officer to support a Commonwealth Government department based in Barton. This is a full-time contract opportunities suited to candidates with strong government administration, application-processing and client-service experience. Successful candidates will work in a busy operational environment, managing sensitive enquiries and administrative processes in accordance with established policies and procedures. Applicants must be Australian citizens and already hold a current Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance or higher. The opportunity - Full-time contract positions - Potential extension of up to 12 months - Expected commencement in October 2026 - 37.5 hours per week - Barton, ACT location - APS4 and APS5 equivalent opportunities Key responsibilities - Act as a primary contact for clients through telephone, email and face-to-face channels - Respond to enquiries and provide accurate advice in line with policies, procedures and service standards - Receive, review and process applications, ensuring information is complete and accurate - Maintain accurate client records and update internal systems - Liaise with internal teams, external service providers and government agencies - Coordinate and process sensitive external checks - Monitor administrative matters from commencement through to completion - Prepare clear written documentation and recommendations for delegate consideration - Contribute to the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures - Support Team Leaders with policy,



service-delivery and operational projects - Assist with broader administrative and client-service activities across the section About you To be successful, you will demonstrate:
- Experience processing applications, cases, requests or other high-volume administrative matters - Strong client-service skills across phone and email channels - The ability to manage sensitive or challenging enquiries professionally - Excellent attention to detail and recordkeeping skills - Experience interpreting and applying government policies and procedures - Sound judgement and the ability to identify when matters require escalation - Robust organisation and time-management skills - The ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines - Confidence working independently and collaboratively in a team environment - A proactive approach to process improvement and operational support Mandatory requirements Applicants must:
- Be an Australian citizen - Hold a current Australian Government NV1 security clearance or higher - Be available to work from Barton, ACT - Be able to commence in October 2026 Applicants who only hold a Baseline clearance cannot be considered for these positions.

The following will be highly regarded:

- Experience in security clearance or personnel-vetting processes - Knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework - Previous experience within DFAT, Defence or another Commonwealth security environment - Experience undertaking sensitive external checks - Experience preparing documentation or recommendations for delegate approval - Experience drafting or maintaining SOPs - Certificate III or IV in Government APS4 and APS5 consideration Candidates may be considered at the APS4 level, APS5 level or both.
