About the role

An exciting chance has become available for a part-time qualified optometrist to join our dedicated team at KindSIGHT Eye Specialists. KindSIGHT is proudly hosts a team of experienced ophthalmic surgeons and multidisciplinary allied health professionals, delivering exceptional care across a broad range of eye conditions and subspecialties throughout Brisbane. This position is primarily based at our Indooroopilly clinic but supplementary support at our Redcliffe clinic will be required occasionally. The successful candidate will join us in expanding our clinical service offering and be wholeheartedly invested in excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform comprehensive workups within ophthalmology clinics and assist with minor in-office procedures
- Perform independent eye examinations within ophthalmology shared care setting including refraction, anterior and posterior segment examination, OCT interpretation, Visual Field analysis, biometry, and further ocular imaging.
- Provide pre- and post-operative optometry care for cataract, refractive, and other ophthalmic surgical patients
- Co-manage glaucoma, AMD, diabetic retinopathy, keratoconus, dry eye, and other anterior and posterior segment pathology.
- Contribute to surgery preparation and clinical outcome audits.
- Effectively communicate with patients, families, interested parties and referrers regarding diagnoses and required treatments.




- Assist with general running of the clinic and ad hoc duties to support the Clinical Team Leader and/or the Clinic Director.

About you

Professionally:

- Degree in Optometry – Therapeutic Qualification required
- Registration with the Optometry Board of Australia
- Demonstrated optometry experience in performing, interpreting, and analysing diagnostic tests and clinical measurements. Ophthalmology clinic experience desirable.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively engage with patients.
- Warm, professional, and enthusiastic manner, with a genuine passion for patient-centred care.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records.
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of confidence and proficiency with technology. Typing skills critical working within a paperless practice.
- Solid work ethic, reliability, and commitment to contributing positively to team culture.
- Willingness to obtain Police Check / Working With Children Check
