Global Communication Services (GCS) are seeking an experienced Communications Technician to join our team in High Wycombe Western Australia.

GCS specialises in the provision of communication and technology data systems that include Radio and Automation Solutions, Equipment Repair, Servicing and Supply for Mining (Underground and Surface), Heavy Industry, Commercial and Retail Customers. GCS is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Australian owned and run company, Hahn Electrical Contracting.
The position:
This is a residential Perth-based position, working out of our High Wycombe workshop with site-based work as required.
You will be part of a team responsible for installation, maintenance, fault finding and repair of communication systems across a range of environments, including active mining operations.
The role will see you working across:
- Microwave, telemetry, multiplexing and satellite systems
- Two-way radio and repeater infrastructure
- UHF & VHF leaky feeder systems (analogue and digital)
- Optical fibre and copper networks (installation, termination and testing)
- PLC and telemetry systems
- Bench-level electronic diagnostics and repairs
About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Australian Trade Certificate in Electrotechnology, Communications or equivalent
- Extensive experience with underground mining communication systems, particularly leaky feeder systems
- Robust understanding of RF theory and IP networking
- Proven ability in fault finding and diagnostics across communication systems
- Strong time management and ability to work autonomously
Highly desirable
- Experience with component-level electronic repairs
- Experience installing and maintaining microwave systems
Additional Requirements
- Must be Perth-based or willing to relocate, with the ability to reliably attend our High Wycombe workshop and site locations
- Ability to provide relevant, practical referees who can speak to your hands-on experience
- Must have full working rights in Australia
