About the role
Swimplex Aquatics is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor - Aquatic Projects to join our dynamic team in Sydney, NSW. This is a full time position that will see you take a leadership role in overseeing the construction and installation of aquatic facilities and related projects. You will be responsible for managing on-site operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This role is pivotal to our company's success, as you will be the driving force behind delivering exceptional aquatic projects that meet our clients' expectations and industry regulations.
Key responsibilities
1. Supervise and coordinate all construction activities on multiple aquatic projects across Australia and New Zealand.
2. Manage site teams, including labour coordination, task delegation and performance monitoring to ensure productivity and safety standards
3. Maintain strict adherence to project schedules, budgets and quality specifications, reporting progress to senior management and clients
4. Conduct daily site inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
5. Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors and clients to ensure clear communication and resolve any on-site issues or changes
6. Manage materials and equipment procurement, inventory control and site logistics to minimise waste and optimise workflow
7. Document project progress through site reports, photographs and records, maintaining accurate administrative paperwork
8. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety and cost-effectiveness on future projects
9. Train and mentor junior staff,
fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
What we're looking for
1. Proven experience as a construction supervisor or foreperson within the aquatic construction industry or related specialist construction fields. Minimum of 5 years experience.Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines and resources effectively whilst maintaining quality outcomes
2. Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and supervise diverse teams
3. Sound understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements in construction, including ability to implement and enforce safety protocols
4. Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, engineers and team members
5. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation
6. Problem-solving capability and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
7. Relevant construction qualifications, certifications or licenses (such as a Construction Induction Card, White Card, or supervisory qualifications) and current driver's licence.
8. Work hands-on with tools when required.Physical fitness and willingness to work on-site in varying weather conditions
9. Willingness to travel regularly throughout Australia and New Zealand
10. Aquatic construction experience, first aid certificate,
dogging, rigging or crane licences highly regarded.
