About the Role

As Cook, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, hygiene and safety.

Working closely with the hospitality team, you'll help create a positive dining experience for residents and contribute to a welcoming environment where food is an important part of daily life.

Your responsibilities will include

- Preparing fresh, nutritious and appetising meals.

- Ensuring meals meet individual dietary requirements and special diets.

- Maintaining compliance with Food Safety Standards and HACCP principles.





- Assisting with menu preparation and food presentation.

- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen.

- Managing stock rotation and minimising food waste.

- Working collaboratively with the wider hospitality and care teams.

- Delivering excellent service while promoting dignity, choice and person-centred care.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in producing quality meals.

You'll bring

- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality.

- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.

- Knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety Standards.

- Strong organisational and time management skills.

- Excellent communication skills.

- A positive, flexible and team-focused attitude.

- Understanding of person-centred care and residents' rights.

- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

- Availability to work weekends.

Desirable
- Experience working in aged care, healthcare or a similar environment.

- Understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards.

- Current First Aid Certificate.

Pre-Employment Requirements The successful applicant will be required to complete, or be willing to undertake:

- Vaccination in accordance with UPA's Immunisation and Vaccination Policy, including evidence of the required COVID-19 vaccinations and annual influenza vaccination.

- Pre-Employment Medical Assessment.
