Your Opportunity
This is a 24-month Max Term Contract
As a Cyber Security Engineer - Network, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing and continually improving Cuscal's Web Application Firewall (WAF) and DDoS protection capabilities.
What You'll Be Doing
Designing, deploying and supporting WAF and DDoS protection services across cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments
Developing and tuning WAF policies, rule sets and security controls to protect web applications and APIs
Engineering solutions to detect, prevent and respond to DDoS attacks
Working closely with Network, Cloud, Application and Security Operations teams to onboard new services and strengthen security controls
Monitoring traffic, analysing threats and investigating complex security incidents
Implementing bot management, API protection, rate limiting and advanced traffic controls
Improving visibility through monitoring, telemetry and SIEM integrations
Driving continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen Cuscal's cyber defence capability and service resilience.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and securing large-scale digital environments.
Experience in network security engineering, WAF, DDoS protection, cloud security or application delivery
Strong experience implementing and operating enterprise WAF platforms
Practical experience mitigating network, protocol and application-layer DDoS attacks
Deep understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP/S, TLS, DNS, load balancing, routing, reverse proxies and CDN technologies
Experience protecting web applications and APIs against OWASP threats, bots and malicious traffic
Strong troubleshooting and traffic analysis skills across network, application and security layers
Strong stakeholder management, incident response and technical communication skills.
