About the ROLE

Scott Smith Orthodontics provides exceptional orthodontic care for our patients. We are currently searching for a part time Dental Assistant to work 4 days a week in our Launceston Practice. The Dental Assistant ensures appointments run smoothly, assists the Orthodontist, OHT or Dental Hygienist and prepares the chairside area ready for care delivery.

Job Responsibilities

- Welcome customers in the Practice

- Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort

- Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed

- Sterilise instruments according to regulations

- Assist the Orthodontist in seeing/treating patients

- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions

- Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked

- Schedule appointments and basic reception duties

- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures

About YOU

- Ideally you will have experience working in the Dental Industry and a Cert 3 in Dental Assisting (previous orthodontics experience is advantageous)

- Strong attention to detail, highly organised, efficient and ability to work autonomously

- Ability to consistently provide outstanding customer service

- Immaculate presentation, friendly demeanour, and empathetic nature

- Experience in using Dolphin or other dental practice management software is a bonus
