You are an experienced Design Manager with a strong electrical background, capable of leading a technical design team while balancing hands-on technical governance with strategic, business-focused leadership.

About you

- Degree or trade qualification in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) - essential.
- In-depth knowledge of LV electrical systems and custom-built electrical products.
- Proven experience leading and developing a design/engineering team.
- Strong understanding of design standards, compliance and quality assurance within an electrical manufacturing environment.
- Skilled with CAD/3D design software and digital engineering tools.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and reporting skills.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to contribute to business planning and forecasting.

What you will be doing:

- Leading, mentoring and developing a team of design leads, senior designers and drafters.
- Overseeing the delivery of technical designs across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with scope, standards, timelines and budgets.
- Establishing and enforcing design standards, processes and best practice across the design function.




- Reviewing and approving complex design deliverables against Australian standards and client specifications.
- Driving continuous improvement, automation and standardisation across design tools and processes.
- Working closely with Production, Procurement and Project Delivery to ensure a seamless transition from design through to manufacture.
- Building solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting Project Managers and clients in resolving design-related issues.
- Contributing to broader business planning, forecasting and reporting on team performance and project status.
