We’re looking for Developers to join the Callista team at Tribal Group. Callista is one of Australia’s leading student management systems, used by major universities to support the full student lifecycle.
This is a hands-on role developing enterprise software across Oracle Forms, Oracle ADF, Oracle APEX and Oracle Database. You’ll contribute throughout the development lifecycle, using Claude Code extensively as part of day-to-day coding, problem-solving and delivery.
What you’ll be doing
Design, develop and enhance functionality across the Callista platform.
Translate user requirements and technical specifications into explicit, supportable solutions using Oracle Forms, Oracle ADF, Oracle APEX and Oracle Database.
Use Claude Code extensively throughout the development workflow, including coding, refactoring, debugging, testing and technical documentation.
Write accurate, maintainable code and follow agreed coding standards, design principles and secure development practices.
Create and review unit tests, take part in peer reviews and contribute to right-first-time delivery.
Undertake impact analysis, investigate defects and identify practical root-cause solutions.
Support version control, configuration management, build and release activities.
Work collaboratively with developers, testers, product colleagues and other stakeholders from refinement through to delivery.
What we’re looking for
Essential
At least two years’ commercial software development experience.
Hands-on development experience with Oracle Forms, Oracle ADF and Oracle APEX.
Strong working knowledge of Oracle Database, including SQL and PL/SQL.
Extensive practical experience using Claude Code in a commercial software development environment.
The ability to analyse requirements and translate them into clear technical solutions, code and tests.
Experience with unit testing, code review, defect investigation and version control.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise work.
Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working in a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
Experience working in education technology or on student management systems.
Experience developing enterprise applications in a long-standing product environment.
