About the Role
We’re seeking dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our supportive teams in the following locations.
· Gorokan
· Wadalba
· Hamlyn Terrace
· Fletcher
· Thornton
· Watanobbi
· Wyong In this role, you’ll assist a group of clients with various disabilities and daily support needs, who live together in a shared home. You’ll be a key part of helping them achieve greater independence and wellbeing in their daily lives. Operating under the active support model, the role involves support with all activities of daily living including psychosocial support, physical support, support maintaining their household, support maintaining health and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering active support aligned with each client’s goals and support plans
- Supporting with daily living activities in their home including cooking and cleaning
- Assisting with daily personal care tasks (e.g., toileting, showering, dressing)
- Using safe manual handling techniques in accordance with individual plans
- Facilitating community access and transport using Unisson vehicles or public transport
- Building trusted relationships with clients, families and external stakeholders
- Maintaining accurate documentation, reports and records
- Working collaboratively within a close-knit team
- Responding appropriately to incidents in line with Unisson and NDIS guidelines
Who We’re Looking For
- Willing to work active night & sleepover shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Experience with high complex needs clients including PEG/PEJ and CPAP is highly desirable
- Hold a valid NSW Driver’s Licence (P2/full) and are confident driving Unisson vehicles which include large cars or vans
- Energetic, compassionate, and emotionally resilient
- Experienced in disability support (preferred)
- Qualified with Cert III/IV in Disability (desirable)
