We are currently seeking a motivated and commercially driven Distribution/Channel Sales Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building strong customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering technical sales solutions across industrial and automation markets.

About the Role

As a Distribution/Channel Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for driving profitable sales growth through Phoenix Contact’s channel partner network while expanding business opportunities across OEM, End User, Integrator, and Contractor markets.

You will combine technical expertise with strategic sales capability to support channel partners, influence distributor strategy, and deliver tailored automation and connectivity solutions that meet customer needs while achieving revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Channel Partner Management

- Lead, manage, and develop sales opportunities across the Phoenix Contact product portfolio.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Channel Partners, OEMs, End Users, Integrators, and Contractors.
- Develop and execute regional channel strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Conduct customer visits, presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions.
- Support partner capability development through joint sales calls, product training,



and business reviews.
- Review account performance and identify growth and cross-selling opportunities using CRM tools.

Business Development

- Identify and develop new business opportunities and target markets.
- Drive specification activities and influence key decision-makers.
- Expand business within existing accounts while identifying new customers in the region.
- Support strategic growth initiatives and market development activities.
- Leverage market intelligence and channel data to maximise business outcomes.

Technical Support & Customer Service

- Provide high-level technical and sales support to customers and channel partners.
- Deliver product education, seminars, and technical presentations.
- Assist customers with enquiries and coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Promote lifecycle management solutions and suitable product alternatives where required.

Communication & Collaboration

- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, product specialists, and sales teams.
- Participate in regular sales meetings, training sessions, and business reviews.
- Maintain professional communication and strong customer engagement.

Skills & Experience We are looking for someone with:





- Proven success in technical sales, channel sales, or business development.
- 3–5 years of field sales or channel sales experience with a successful track record.
- Experience in account management and relationship development.
- A background in industrial automation, electrical engineering, or related industries.
- Strong commercial acumen and customer-focused mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and presentation capabilities.
- Ability to build long-term customer relationships.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and project management skills.
- Experience working with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
- An Engineering Degree or equivalent technical qualification.
- Australian work rights are required for this position.
