With five offices across NSW and QLD and a team of over 100 engineers, surveyors, planners, and project managers, they are rapidly establishing themselves as a market leader in their sector.
They are seeking an experienced Flood Engineer to join their Sydney team. This is a great opportunity to develop your technical skills under the guidance of experienced senior engineers while contributing to meaningful flood and hydraulic engineering projects The Role:
- Assist in the preparation of flood studies, floodplain management plans, and risk assessments
- Support the communication of flood impacts, regulatory compliance, and development considerations to clients and stakeholders
- Contribute to project delivery across multidisciplinary teams, supporting milestones and budgets under the direction of senior engineers
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and authorities
- Develop your technical skills in hydrological and hydraulic modelling under senior guidance
- Contribute to the preparation of engineering reports, fee proposals, and project documentation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- 3–5 years' experience in civil engineering with exposure to flood management or hydraulic modelling projects
- Developing proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modelling tools such as TUFLOW, RORB/WBNM, HEC-RAS, or DRAINS
- Familiarity with GIS workflows
- An understanding of local government and State approval processes and Australian Standards
- Good written and verbal communication skills with a cooperative, team-oriented attitude
- Eagerness to grow technical skills and take on increasing responsibility
Desirable:
- Exposure to residential subdivision design including drainage, earthworks, and roads
- Stormwater modelling experience
- RPEQ accreditation or working towards it
