PlayPatch Annerley Early Learning

Annerley

At PlayPatch Annerley, we're not just opening a new centre — we're building a culture.

A culture where every decision, from our educators to our chef, leadership team and Approved Provider, begins with one simple question:

"Is this in the best interests of the child?"

If the answer is yes, we know we're on the right path.

We're inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy because we believe children are capable, curious and deserving of a childhood that isn't rushed. We value play as meaningful learning, create environments that inspire exploration and recognise that relationships sit at the heart of everything we do.

As our Educational Leader, you'll play a key role in ensuring these beliefs are reflected in our everyday practice. You'll support educators to think deeply about children's learning, foster a culture of reflection and help build a curriculum that is genuinely responsive to children's interests, strengths and ideas.

As a brand-new centre, we have a rare chance.

We're not inheriting someone else's culture — we're creating our own, together.

We're starting with just 10 children and will gradually grow to our licensed capacity of 107, opening rooms as our community grows. This means you'll have the opportunity to influence pedagogy from the beginning and help establish a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement.

You Might Be the Person We're Looking For If...

- You believe great leadership starts with relationships, trust and genuine collaboration.
- You enjoy mentoring and coaching educators, helping them build confidence in their practice.
- You are passionate about curriculum, pedagogy and creating meaningful learning experiences for children.
- You ask reflective questions rather than simply providing answers.
- You can inspire educators to see the learning within everyday moments.
- You value documentation that captures children's thinking, voices and learning journeys.
- You enjoy facilitating professional discussions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

- You believe every educator has strengths worth developing and celebrating.
- You're curious, reflective and committed to growing alongside your team.

What You'll Be Doing

- Leading and supporting curriculum development across the service.
- Mentoring educators to strengthen their understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Supporting reflective practice and professional growth.
- Encouraging inquiry-based and child-led learning experiences.
- Working alongside educators to embed meaningful documentation and assessment practices.
- Helping create inspiring learning environments that provoke curiosity and exploration.
- Promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Supporting quality practices aligned with the National Quality Framework and National Quality Standards.

Our Commitment to Our Team

We want PlayPatch to be somewhere educators choose to stay — not because they have to, but because they want to. We want our team to feel listened to, trusted and supported. We encourage honest conversations, recognise that everyone is still learning and understand that great practice grows through reflection, mentorship and shared experience.

Children come first at PlayPatch, but we also believe the adults caring for them matter too.

As our Educational Leader, you'll be supported by a leadership team that values your expertise, welcomes your ideas and genuinely believes educational leadership should be meaningful, not just another compliance requirement.

Essential

- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or higher qualification.

- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Framework.
- Experience mentoring, supporting or leading educators within an early childhood setting.

Desirable

- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education.
- Previous experience as an Educational Leader or in a curriculum leadership role.
- Knowledge of, or interest in, Reggio Emilia-inspired practice.
- Experience supporting quality improvement and assessment processes.

Experience with Reggio Emilia is welcomed but not essential. We're happy to support and grow with an Educational Leader who shares our values and passion for meaningful learning.

Why Join Us?

- Be part of a brand-new centre and help shape its culture from day one.
- Influence curriculum, pedagogy and professional practice across the service.
- Work in a calm, thoughtfully designed environment that respects children and the people who care for them.
- Be supported by a leadership team that believes in listening, mentoring and professional growth.
- Genuine opportunities for career development as the centre expands.
- Join a team that values reflection, collaboration, humour and kindness just as much as professionalism.
- Competitive remuneration based on qualifications and experience.

We'd Love to Hear From You If...

You've ever wished you had more opportunity to influence practice, mentor educators and help build a learning culture you're proud of. If you're passionate about supporting educators, championing children's learning and helping create a centre where curiosity, relationships and reflection are genuinely valued.

If you're ready to be part of a team building something meaningful from the very beginning, we'd love to meet you.

Join us as we create something special for children, families and educators at PlayPatch Annerley.
