About the Role

We are seeking a hands on Electronics &

- Test Technician to support the development, testing, and manufacture of advanced electronic and industrial control systems. This role is primarily electronics focused and will be responsible for PCB assembly, rework, modification, wiring, testing, fault finding, and prototype builds. You will work closely with electrical, firmware, and mechanical engineers to rapidly develop and validate new products. The ideal candidate will have excellent soldering skills, experience performing PCB modifications and repairs, and a strong understanding of electronics manufacturing and testing practices.

Experience working to IPC workmanship standards is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities Electronics Assembly &

- PCB Rework

- Assemble and modify prototype and production electronic assemblies.

- Perform high quality soldering of SMT and through hole components.

- Carry out PCB rework including:

- Component replacement

- Fine pitch soldering

- Wire modifications (jumper wires)

- Trace cuts and repair

- Engineering Change Order (ECO) implementation

- Repair faulty electronic assemblies to component level.

- Assemble and test cable harnesses and wiring looms.

- Inspect assemblies against IPC workmanship standards.

Testing &

- Troubleshooting

- Perform functional testing of PCBs, sub assemblies, and complete systems.

- Diagnose hardware issues using:

- Oscilloscopes

- Digital multimeters

- Bench power supplies

- Logic analysers

- Electronic loads

- Assist engineers with root cause analysis and corrective actions.

- Support design verification, reliability testing, and product validation activities.

- Record test results and maintain laboratory documentation.





Electromechanical Systems Support

- Assist with integration of electronic assemblies into larger systems.

- Install and connect sensors, power supplies, communications hardware, motors, pumps, and industrial control devices.

- Support system commissioning and prototype build activities.

- Build and maintain test jigs, fixtures, and laboratory equipment.

Laboratory Operations

- Maintain workshop and laboratory equipment.

- Manage electronic components, consumables, and laboratory inventory.

- Support incoming inspection and quality control activities.

- Ensure safe, organized, and efficient laboratory operations.

Required Skills &

- Experience

Essential

- Diploma, Trade Qualification, Associate Degree, or equivalent experience in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

- Strong practical electronics skills.

- Demonstrated professional soldering experience.

- Experience with SMT and through hole assembly and rework.

- Experience performing PCB wire modifications and engineering changes.

- Ability to interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams.

- Experience using common electronic test equipment.

- Robust troubleshooting and fault finding capability.

- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

Highly Desirable

- IPC A 610 Certification.

- IPC J STD 001 Certification.

- IPC 7711/7721 Rework and Repair Certification.

- Experience working in electronics manufacturing or R&D; environments.

- Experience with low voltage power electronics.

- Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontroller based hardware.

- Experience with prototype builds and engineering validation.

- Experience with cable harness fabrication and wiring standards.
