ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a proactive Emergency Planning Advisor to join our Precinct Operations team, supporting emergency preparedness and operational readiness across Melbourne Park. Reporting to the Director of Precinct Operations and Australian Open, you will coordinate emergency planning activities, deliver training and exercises, and work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to ensure our venues are prepared to respond effectively.
Working across the precinct, you'll help maintain emergency management frameworks, coordinate emergency resources and contribute to the successful delivery of major events, including the Australian Open.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and continuous improvement of the Melbourne Park Emergency Management Plan
- Coordinate the Emergency Planning Committee and emergency management activities across the precinct
- Plan and deliver emergency management training, drills and exercises, including debriefs and reporting
- Maintain emergency management resources, documentation and First Aid readiness
- Support the coordination and training of Fire Indicator Panel (FIP) operators and Duty Senior Executive rosters
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, emergency services and external partners
- Contribute to emergency planning and operational readiness for the Australian Open and other major events
ABOUT YOU
You are passionate about emergency preparedness and creating protected, resilient environments. You are organised,
collaborative and confident working with a broad range of stakeholders to coordinate emergency planning initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
You have:
- Experience in emergency planning, emergency management, workplace health and safety or safety coordination
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and organisational skills
- Experience coordinating emergency management training, exercises or preparedness activities
- Knowledge of emergency procedures within venue, facilities or event environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and coordination tools such as Monday.com
- A proactive, collaborative approach with a focus on continuous improvement
Desirable:
- Understanding of AS/NZS 3745:2010 and its practical application
- Qualifications in Emergency Management, Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline
