Hays is partnering with a prestigious Canberra-based organisation seeking an experienced Employee Relations / Change Business Partner to join their People & Culture team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced ER professional who enjoys managing complex casework, partnering with senior leaders, and influencing positive workplace outcomes across a large and diverse organisation.

The Opportunity

Working within a high-performing Employee Relations team, you will provide expert advice and support across a broad range of employment and industrial relations matters. You will partner closely with leaders to navigate complex workplace issues while contributing to organisational change initiatives, policy development, and continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide expert advice on complex employee and industrial relations matters
- Manage casework relating to performance, conduct, grievances, workplace disputes and organisational change
- Conduct workplace investigations and prepare detailed reports, correspondence and recommendations
- Coach and support managers to build capability in people management and employee relations practices
- Facilitate dispute resolution and engage with unions and other stakeholders
- Lead and contribute to projects focused on improving people management practices and frameworks
- Research legislative and industrial developments and provide practical advice on organisational impacts




- Support continuous improvement initiatives across employee relations and people experience functions

About You

You are a trusted ER professional with the ability to confidently navigate complex workplace matters and influence outcomes through sound judgement and strong stakeholder relationships.

You will bring

- Demonstrated experience managing complex ER and IR casework
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments and workplace relations frameworks
- Experience conducting workplace investigations and preparing comprehensive reports
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills
- A solutions-focused approach to resolving workplace issues
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare high-quality advice and recommendations
- Experience supporting organisational change initiatives
