Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead technical teams responsible for the support, sustainment, and ongoing assurance of complex operational assets.

This is a leadership opportunity for a professional who understands that engineering doesn't end at delivery. You'll lead teams responsible for maintaining capability, resolving complex technical issues, managing engineering change, and ensuring assets continue to perform safely, reliably, and effectively throughout their operational lifecycle.

About the Role

Reporting to senior leadership, you will lead multidisciplinary teams delivering support and sustainment outcomes across a portfolio of complex assets.

You will be responsible for governance, technical decision making, configuration management, engineering change, obsolescence management, and continuous improvement activities that maximise asset availability and performance.

Working closely with operations, maintenance, project teams and customers, you'll ensure engineering solutions are practical, compliant and support long-term operational success.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams supporting in-service assets.
- Provide engineering leadership across support and sustainment activities throughout the asset lifecycle.
- Oversee engineering change, technical investigations, root cause analysis and problem resolution.
- Ensure engineering governance, configuration management and technical integrity are maintained.




- Identify and manage technical risk while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with operational, maintenance and customer stakeholders to optimise asset performance and reliability.
- Support strategic planning, workforce capability and engineering best practice.

About You You are an experienced leader with a background in supporting complex operational environments where reliability, availability and lifecycle performance are critical.

You will bring

- Degree qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams within a support and sustainment environment.
- Robust understanding of engineering governance, engineering change, configuration management and lifecycle management.
- Experience managing engineering risk and providing technical leadership for in-service assets.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
- A collaborative approach with a passion for developing high-performing engineering teams.

Experience supporting complex assets within Defence, Aerospace, Rail, Energy, Resources, Utilities, Maritime or other highly regulated industries will be highly regarded.

Eligibility

Australian Citizenship is essential. Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance will be highly regarded.
