Preference will be given to candidates based regionally, with a focus on Queanbeyan, Armidale, Dubbo and Coffs Harbour Clerk Grade 7/8 – Salary from $116,981 up to $129,492 per annum (FTE) plus super and leave loading About the Role
As Fisheries Manager, Murray Darling, you will support important conservation work across the NSW Murray-Darling Basin, helping to improve aquatic habitats and support the recovery of native fish and aquatic ecosystems. In this role,
you will contribute to the development and implementation of habitat rehabilitation projects, prepare clear advice, strategies and reports, review environmental assessments and information, and work with government, community and industry stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for NSW waterways. You will also help promote DPIRD’s role in aquatic environmental management and support practical solutions that balance conservation, policy and stakeholder needs.

You

Valuable knowledge of aquatic habitats, fish communities and conservation issues Experience reviewing information, preparing clear technical advice, and managing project implementation Sound judgement to assess issues and recommend practical solutions Strong communication skills to engage and involve diverse stakeholders respectfully Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality work on time Confidence working independently while seeking guidance when needed * A professional approach that supports public sector values and accountability.
