About the role A and M Earthmoving is seeking an experienced Excavator and Bobcat Combo Operator to join our team on a full-time basis in Brisbane, QLD 4000. This is a key operational role that plays a vital part in delivering our earthmoving and construction projects on time and to the highest standards. You will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy plant and machinery, including excavators and bobcat loaders, on diverse construction sites throughout the Brisbane region.

This role is essential to the success of our projects and requires a skilled, safety-conscious operator with extensive experience in plant operation.

Key responsibilities

1. Operate excavators and bobcat loaders safely and efficiently across multiple construction and earthmoving projects
2. Perform routine pre-operation inspections and maintenance checks on all assigned plant and machinery
3. Adhere strictly to all health, safety and environmental regulations on site
4. Communicate effectively with site supervisors, project managers and other team members to ensure project objectives are met
5. Maintain accurate records of plant operations, fuel usage and any mechanical issues encountered
6. Position and manoeuvre heavy machinery with precision to complete earthmoving, excavation and loading tasks
7. Operate machinery in varying weather conditions and challenging terrain while maintaining safety standards
8. Report any equipment faults or safety concerns immediately to management
9. Contribute to maintaining a positive and safety-focused workplace culture on site

What we're looking for

1. Current Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) driver's licence as a minimum requirement
2. Proven experience operating excavators and bobcat loaders in commercial construction or earthmoving environments
3. Relevant plant operation qualifications and certifications (such as High Risk Work Licences for operating heavy plant)
4. Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental practices specific to construction sites
5.



Demonstrated ability to read and interpret site plans and instructions from supervisors
6. Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination for precise machinery operation
7. Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify and report equipment maintenance issues
8. Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining high safety standards at all times
9. Robust communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
10. Experience working on Brisbane construction projects would be highly advantageous
