Reports to: Chief Executive Officer About the Opportunity Central Gippsland Health is seeking a Director People and Culture to join our Executive Team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our workforce. As a key strategic leader, you will drive a contemporary people and culture agenda that attracts, develops and retains a high‑performing workforce while fostering a culture of safety, inclusion, accountability and excellence. This is an prospect to make a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of our staff, patients and community.

In an environment of significant change and transformation across the healthcare sector, you will partner with executives, managers and clinicians to deliver workforce strategies that support exceptional patient care and organisational success.

About the Role The Director People and Culture provides strategic and operational leadership across all human resources, workforce, organisational development, employee relations, workplace health and safety, learning and development, recruitment and workforce planning functions.

Key responsibilities include

- Workforce planning.
- Performance management, employee relations and Enterprise Bargaining.
- Learning and capability development for managers and non‑clinical staff.
- Providing expert advice to the CEO, Executive Team and managers on people‑related matters.
- Championing diversity, equity, inclusion and cultural safety initiatives.
- Supporting leadership development and succession planning across the organisation.




- Ensuring compliance with relevant employment legislation, industrial instruments and accreditation standards.
- Overseeing workplace health, safety and wellbeing programs.

Job Requirement

Criteria - Significant demonstrated experience at a senior management or Executive level in leading a people and culture function to deliver a strategy that supports attainment of organisational outcomes - Proven success in developing and leading high performing teams, including coaching, developing and uniting teams towards a shared vision - Excellent understanding of management issues in complex organisations - Ability to demonstrate the CGH Leadership and Management Capabilities at an executive or senior manager level - Ability to demonstrate technical capabilities associated with the role - Relevant tertiary qualification/s Highly Desirable - Experience within the healthcare, public sector or not‑for‑profit environment.

- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field.
- Experience leading enterprise bargaining and complex workforce reform initiatives.
