About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Facilities Coordinator to support operations within a Defence environment in Williamstown, NSW.
Reporting to the Regional Facilities Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating planned and reactive maintenance activities, contractor management, compliance monitoring, CMMS administration, reporting, and operational support across a secure and controlled site environment.
This is a fast-paced operational role suited to someone who enjoys working across maintenance coordination, contractor engagement, compliance processes, and stakeholder management while maintaining a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and operational readiness.
Security Clearance Requirement
This position requires the successful applicant to hold, or be eligible to obtain, an Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance.
Under the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) requirements, applicants must be Australian citizens and generally have a minimum of five (5) years' continuous residence in Australia to be eligible for NV1 clearance.
Eligibility is assessed by the Australian Government and includes background, character, identity, and employment history checks.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate planned, reactive, corrective, and essential services maintenance activities
- Manage and monitor contractor performance, compliance, permits, and site access requirements
- Coordinate work orders, maintenance records, and CMMS updates
- Support operational reporting, documentation, and compliance activities
- Assist with minor works and site operational activities
- Monitor contractor WHS compliance, permits, SWMS, and operational procedures
- Support inspections, audits, and risk management activities
- Build strong relationships with contractors, technicians, and client representatives
- Ensure operational deliverables are completed within required KPIs and timeframes
- Support a safe, compliant, and professional working environment
About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience in facilities management, maintenance coordination, or building operations
- Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance service providers
- Exposure to CMMS systems and operational reporting environments
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work within structured and compliance-driven environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working within Defence, government, critical infrastructure, or highly regulated environments will be highly regarded
- Understanding of WHS systems, permits, and contractor compliance processes
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
