Description

We are seeking an experienced Farm Hand to join our operations at South Burnett

About the Property The South Burnett Aggregation is a fullblood Wagyu breeding, backgrounding, and mixed farming operation located in the foothills of the picturesque Bunya Mountains in Queensland's South Burnett region, approximately 30 minutes from Kingaroy.

Spanning approximately 3,600 hectares, the aggregation supports 1,100 breeders and includes 276 hectares of irrigation dedicated to fodder production. The operation plays an important role in supporting Hancock Agriculture's 2GR Wagyu supply chain through its integrated breeding, backgrounding, and farming activities.

About the Role The Farm Hand is responsible for all on-farm operations at the expanding irrigated and dryland farming. This hands-on role involves ground preparation, spraying, planting, irrigation, and pump and machinery maintenance, as well as general property upkeep.

Assist with land management practices, including:

- Weed and pest animal control
- Drought preparedness
- Soil erosion prevention
- Fire management
- Nature conservation
- Public access management
- Pasture spelling
- Operate and maintain various large farm machinery, vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Carry out general property maintenance and repairs
- Adhere to safe operating procedures and promote a strong safety culture

About You

- Competent operation and maintenance skills with a range of farm machinery and equipment
- Basic mechanical, welding,



and fencing knowledge
- A strong work ethic and commitment to working safely
- Ability to record information and communicate effectively in the workplace
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a small team
- Current Class C driver’s licence (truck licence and machinery accreditations an advantage)
- A genuine passion for farming, agriculture, and working in a rural location
