The Field Engineering team is part of the System Integration

International organisation, and is responsible for designing and guiding the technical implementation of government and commercial communications system solutions, leveraging new technologies and approaches sourced from both inside and outside of Motorola

Solutions.

The Field Engineering role forms part of multi-disciplined project teams to design and deliver complex mission critical voice and data systems.

The systems may be used directly by our customers or by Motorola

Solutions to deliver Managed Services to our customers. The Field

Engineers work in the post sales phases of projects and may support multiple projects in a given period depending on size and complexity.

There may also be a requirement to provide support to Pre-sales and

Services Organisation.

The Field Engineer role can operate at different levels within the organisation and/or projects. The level of the role will be determined by the size and complexity of the project or activity as well as the level of the individual within the organisation.

The Field

Engineering role can be fulfilled at any level within the Technical Staff (TS) career ladder,

however, engineering staff at lower levels will focus on smaller projects or elements of larger projects with a higher level of supervision. The scope of responsibility for a Field Engineer will be determined by their seniority in the organisation and the composition of the project team they are working with.

The Field

Engineer role responsibilities will include the types of activities listed below:





? Manage and/or perform implementation of communication system solutions and services which satisfy the requirements of the customer, end user and operator

? Provides technical support for Solution Staging, as required

? Lead or participate in Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) while coordinating the technical aspects of the acceptance testing.

? Responsible for the installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of MSI and 3rd party solutions (with support from supplier/vendor)

? Responsible for identifying, investigating and troubleshooting of technical issues during project implementation

? Responsible for on-site Acceptance Tests, while coordinating the technical aspects of the acceptance testing.

? Update of technical documentation and technical change management

? Provide technical support during all project phases through to handover to Support organisation

? Communications - Attend customer meetings, status updates,

provide project reporting.

? Provide on-site or remote support to the customers and partners

? Responsible for self development through an agreed training plan, experience and knowledge transfer.

? Leading the field deployment and day-to-day activities:





Deploying, Configuring, commissioning, Testing and troubleshooting systems and solutions.

? Knowledge transfer from the design team to the implementation team and customer. Coordinate the interface between design and implementation.

? Identifies and mitigates technical risks; develops and implements risk mitigation plans and recommends corrective actions.

? Implementation team focal point for issues raised during deployment, and responsibility for tracking through to resolution.

? Interface, communicate, and coordinate the customer,

partner, sub-contractor on project deployment and best practices where required.

? Ensure the project is delivered to the Motorola Solutions

Quality, Health and Safety standards.

? Conducts technical implementation assessments directly with end users and project team.

? Acts as the primary technical interface to ensure that the contract deliverables are fully understood and actioned.

? Work in conjunction with senior management to ensure technical resources required to support the projects are recruited, retained, properly motivated with clearly defined goals, have the correct skills and are assigned to the appropriate tasks and duties.

? Responsible for identifying and driving process improvement across the technical staff team and into the wider Motorola

Solutions organisation.

Salary: $110,000 - 130,000.00
