About the business and the role

Connect Civil is a South Australian company working across the utilities and civil infrastructure construction sector. We are now looking to bolster our existing high-performing field crews with additional members, working in gas mains replacement and sewer/ water renewal work programs. Positions come with above award rates, penalties, full training and a great working environment.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Some of the day-to-day activities include unloading/loading of vehicles, moving equipment around the site, excavating by hand, cutting concrete, inserting, laying and constructing of [gas/ sewer/ water] mains and services, EF welding, operating HR/ MR vehicles and excavators, and other duties as required.

This can be labour-intensive at times; therefore, a high level of physical fitness is required.

Skills and experience

We are looking for someone with the following attributes:

- Minimum 2 years working in a civil construction workplace

- Valid driver's license [must have either HR/ MR]

- White Card

- Full right to work in Australia - permanent residency minimum [we cannot accomodate working holiday visas].

- A commitment to working safely.

- Must have a solid work ethic and be a team player.

- Be punctual and reliable [reliable vehicle is a must].

- Have a sense of urgency - it can be a high-paced environment.





- Effective communication and teamwork skills

- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and irregular hours when necessary.

Other

Any or a combination of the following additional certifications/ licenses that would be an advantage:

- EF Welding, pressure testing, purging, meter work

- WZTM card [preferred but not essential]

- Accredited asset locator [DBYD accredited]

- First Aid Certificate

- Mobile plant [excavator]

- Any other HRW license that would be relevant.
