Our Message to the world is simple: lead in life science innovation, make everyone’s life healthier and longer. Your duties as an FBS include but are not limited to the following:
Design, develop, optimize, and maintain in-house bioinformatics pipelines and genomics analysis applications.
Understand customer research needs and provide bioinformatics solutions and customized analysis workflows.
Provide technical support to global sales teams and customers by troubleshooting bioinformatics, sequencing, and application-related issues.
Collaborate with FAS, FSE, Product Managers, and R&D; to deliver customized solutions, provide product feedback, and support product improvements.
Develop, optimize, and support laboratory automation workflows and instrumentation, including hardware troubleshooting, performance evaluation, and analysis of experimental data to improve workflow efficiency and reliability.
Evaluate new bioinformatics software, tools, and analytical methods, applying best-practice statistical and computational approaches.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of sequencing technologies, bioinformatics methods, MGI products, and industry trends.
Provide technical pre-sales and post-sales support, including FPGA-related applications where required.
Deliver customer training, technical workshops, and webinars for customers and internal sales teams.
Maintain technical documentation, including training materials, SOPs, FAQs, presentations, videos, and knowledge base content. The successful candidates for this position can demonstrate:
Bachelor's degree or above with 3+ years’ experience in academic or industrial settings in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
Experience in developing next-generation sequencing data analysis methods for DNA,RNA and Long read analysis.
Experience with scripting languages, including Python, bash, Perl, C++ and R.
Excellent communication skills and ability to describe complex process and result to audiences with diverse backgrounds.
Ability to contribute independently and collaboratively, manage progress of assigned tasks, and work in a fast-paced setting.
Experience with using version control systems such as Git.
Knowledge and experience with a wide range of bioinformatics tools.
Proficiency in using Linux operating system such as Ubuntu, Fedora, Centos, etc.
