My Parcel Locker is seeking a capable, reliable and mechanically minded Field Operations Technician to take responsibility for our Sydney operations.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining parcel locker inspections, fault diagnosis, maintenance, installations, courier engagement and stakeholder support. It would suit an experienced all-rounder who enjoys solving technical problems, working autonomously and building robust professional relationships.

My Parcel Locker supplies, installs and supports secure parcel locker systems in apartment buildings throughout Australia. Our lockers allow residents to securely receive deliveries from multiple courier companies and require regular inspection, maintenance, courier onboarding and operational support.

The successful candidate will become our key person on the ground in Sydney and will be trusted to manage their workload, represent the company professionally and take ownership of operational issues from identification through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct scheduled inspections and operational checks of parcel locker systems throughout the Sydney metropolitan area.

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, connectivity and system-related faults.

Carry out minor repairs, adjustments and preventative maintenance.

Escalate more complex technical issues with clear and accurate information.

Assist with the delivery, positioning, assembly, installation and commissioning of new parcel locker systems.

Use hand and power tools, including battery drills, grinders, sockets, spanners and general installation equipment.

Test locker doors, electronic locks, touchscreens, scanners, cameras, computers, modems and associated equipment.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, faults, repairs and completed work.

Liaise with apartment building managers, strata representatives, contractors, courier depot managers and other stakeholders.

Attend courier depots to demonstrate the My Parcel Locker system and assist with courier onboarding and training.

Build positive working relationships with courier companies and encourage correct and consistent use of the locker network.

Transport the Sydney-based mini demonstration locker to courier depots and other locations as required.

Provide regular operational updates and communicate emerging risks,



recurring faults or site concerns.

Manage appointments, travel and daily priorities with minimal supervision.

About You The ideal candidate will have strong practical ability, excellent diagnostic skills and the confidence to investigate problems rather than simply report them.

You will be comfortable working independently, managing a changing workload and representing My Parcel Locker professionally when dealing with customers, contractors and major courier organisations.

You will ideally have:

Solid mechanical, electrical and technical aptitude.

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Excellent problem-solving ability and a practical, methodical approach.

Experience using hand tools and battery-powered tools.

The physical fitness required to assist with locker installations and safely handle equipment.

The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of tasks.

Strong time-management and organisational skills.

Excellent verbal communication and relationship-building skills.

Confidence liaising with courier depot managers, building managers, tradespeople and other stakeholders.

The ability to explain technical information clearly to people with different levels of experience.

Good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.

A professional, reliable and customer-focused attitude.

A current Australian driver licence.

A reliable smartphone and the ability to use mobile applications and digital reporting systems.

Previous experience in field service, electrical work, mechanical maintenance, telecommunications, equipment installation, building services, security systems, appliance repair, technical support or a similar role would be highly regarded.

Formal trade qualifications are advantageous but are not essential where the applicant can demonstrate strong practical, electrical, mechanical and diagnostic capability.





Vehicle Requirement The successful applicant must own a reliable SUV, van or similarly suitable vehicle.

The vehicle will be used to transport our Sydney mini parcel locker demonstration unit to courier depots, apartment buildings and other locations.

The demonstration locker is approximately the size of a standard three-drawer filing cabinet and weighs approximately 30 kilograms. Applicants must be physically capable of safely loading, securing, transporting and unloading the unit.

The advertised hourly rate includes a vehicle allowance arrangement.

Working Arrangements The role will initially involve:

5–6 hours per day

3–4 days per week

Predominantly weekday work

Travel throughout the Sydney metropolitan area

Working days and hours may vary depending on installations, maintenance requirements, courier appointments and operational priorities.

There is an opportunity for increased hours and greater responsibility following an initial assessment period, based on performance, capability and the operational needs of the business.

Some flexibility may occasionally be required for scheduled installations, urgent maintenance issues or courier depot appointments.
