The Opportunity The Field Service Engineer would support the commissioning, maintenance and technical service of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across Australia. Working closely with project delivery, engineering and remote technical support teams, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation of grid-scale energy storage assets.

Key Responsibilities

- Commission, inspect, troubleshoot and maintain utility-scale BESS equipment at customer sites.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical and control system faults to maximise system availability and performance.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with technical procedures and safety standards.
- Support system testing, commissioning and site acceptance activities during project delivery.
- Prepare detailed service reports, technical documentation and maintenance records following site visits.
- Collaborate with engineering,



project delivery and technical support teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Provide technical guidance and training to customers, contractors and service partners where required.
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with WHS requirements, quality standards and customer expectations.
- Travel regularly to project sites across Australia.

About You

- Degree or trade qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnology or a related discipline.
- Experience commissioning or servicing industrial electrical equipment, renewable energy systems or utility-scale infrastructure.
- Exposure to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), solar PV, power conversion systems, substations or high-voltage electrical equipment is highly desirable.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across electrical, control and communication systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, SCADA or PLC systems is advantageous.
- Solid commitment to safety with the ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
- Current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively.
