Are you passionate about supporting individuals and families experiencing financial hardship? We’re seeking a skilled and compassionate Financial Counsellor to deliver high-quality, person-centred financial counselling services and support clients to build financial resilience and independence.
About the role:
- Provides professional financial counselling, budgeting support and advocacy to clients experiencing complex financial difficulties
- Conducts comprehensive financial assessments and develops tailored client service plans
- Supports clients to access relevant schemes including Work and Development Orders (WDO) and Energy Accounts Payment Assistance (EAPA)
- Works collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to ensure holistic, coordinated support
- Maintains accurate and confidential client records and contributes to quality, clinical governance and continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For:
- Relevant Financial Counselling qualifications and accreditation
- Membership with the NSW State Association of Financial Counsellors (FCAN)
- Sound knowledge of consumer protection legislation and relevant regulatory frameworks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated empathy and compassion
- Ability to work independently, prioritise workload and manage competing demands
- NDIS Worker Check and Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Understanding of Jewish values, heritage and culture (desirable)
