About the opportunity
Truck Art is a locally family-owned business, seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to lead its finance function across a complex, multi-entity portfolio. The group operates across the Heavy Vehicle Industry, specialising in but not limited to Smash Repairs, Spray Painting, Sandblasting, Accessory Fitment, Stockcrate Trailers Manufacturing and Repairs, Importing and more.
Reporting to the CEO, this is a senior role for someone who can bring clarity, control and simple, repeatable processes to a fast-moving environment, while supporting growth, governance and investment-readiness.
This is not a role for someone who wants to sit behind spreadsheets all day, but someone who's always asking the question "what more can we do?"
We're looking for a hands-on finance professional who thrives on solving problems, improving processes, supporting the business and rolling up their sleeves when needed. You'll be joining an ambitious leadership team that values initiative, accountability and people who can make things happen.
The Opportunity
You'll take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while helping build the financial capability, controls and reporting infrastructure required to support a rapidly growing business.
This role requires someone who is equally comfortable reviewing statutory accounts, leading a team, improving processes, partnering with stakeholders and jumping into operational issues when required.
What you'll do
- Leading month-end and year-end reporting processes.
- Managing statutory reporting, audit and compliance obligations, including Ensure compliance across BAS, income tax, FBT and payroll tax for all group companies.
- Enhancing financial controls,
governance frameworks and reporting disciplines.
- Overseeing cashflow management and working capital processes.
- Supporting continued improvements across finance systems, reporting and automation.
- Leading, mentoring and developing a small finance team.
- Partnering closely with business leaders to provide commercial insight and support decision making.
- Driving accountability and continuous improvement across the finance function.
- Deliver accurate, timely reporting to the Business Owner, CEO and executive team, including P&L;, cashflow forecasting, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Identify and implement improvements to finance systems, policies and reporting, including the use of automation and AI tools.

- Enjoy building and improving rather than simply maintainin Tertiary qualifications in financial accounting and a number of years in a senior financial accounting or similar role
- Advanced MYOB or similar Accounting Software experience, including with Payroll, Inventory,
General Ledger Analysis, Bank Reconciliations and understanding ‘back of the system’ to assist with Software fault finding.
- Advanced MS Office 365, particularly Excel.
- You're someone who naturally takes ownership, enjoys a challenge and isn't afraid to step outside a traditional to get things done.
- Interested in AI and automation tools to lead to streamlining finance workflows.
- Australian citizenship or the right to work in Australia.
