A Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation, maintenance, and administration of an organisation's vehicle fleet to ensure safe, cost-effective, and compliant transport services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organise, and coordinate the purchase, registration, servicing, repair, and maintenance of fleet vehicles, transport equipment, and fuel supplies to ensure operational efficiency.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to determine transportation requirements and provide advice on suitable vehicle types, fleet solutions, hire arrangements, costs, and contractual obligations.
- Receive transport requests and bookings, prepare vehicle allocation schedules, and implement transportation plans to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Monitor the storage and transportation of goods to ensure they are handled under appropriate conditions, maintaining quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate the collection, dispatch, and delivery of vehicles, equipment, and goods while ensuring adherence to delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate fleet records, including vehicle servicing, fuel consumption, repairs, registrations, insurance, utilisation, and operating costs,
and prepare regular operational reports for management.
- Coordinate transport operations by supervising loading, unloading, dispatch, and arrival activities where applicable, ensuring effective movement of vehicles and goods.
- Develop and implement fleet management policies and procedures to improve operational performance, minimise downtime, and optimise fleet utilisation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant occupational health and safety (WHS/OHS) legislation, road transport regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Monitor driver performance, promote safe driving practices, investigate transport incidents, and implement corrective actions to reduce operational risks.
- Manage fleet budgets, negotiate with suppliers and service providers, and identify opportunities to reduce operating costs while maintaining service quality.
- Coordinate with mechanics, maintenance providers, and logistics personnel to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy, reliable, and available for business operations.
Pay: $80,000.00 per year
