Busy cafe The Little Elephant, 23 Spring Rd, Highett VIC is now recruiting an experienced full time Cook to join our growing team.

About the role:

Duties/Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes following standard recipes and instructions

• Portion and plate food to service standards for à la carte, buffet and catering

• Prep ingredients – wash, peel, cut and marinate

• Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, fryers and food processors

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all food preparation areas

• Store food correctly at required temperatures to ensure quality and prevent spoilage

• Assist with stocktakes and ordering of kitchen supplies

• Follow all food safety procedures and workplace health & safety guidelines





• Work effectively as part of a kitchen brigade under the direction of the Chef / Head Chef

Benefits and perks

Excellent salary package ($79,000 - $90,000) will be awarded to the right candidate

Skills and experience

Ideal Candidate must be:

Minimum 1 year fulltime experience in a similar role

Passion for delivering exceptional customer service, excellent quality food production and service

Sound leadership and interpersonal skills

Ability to be highly organized, reliable and responsible

Effectively work well under pressure

Must be able to commit for the long term
