Dynamic Refrigeration Solutions is a locally owned Darwin business providing refrigeration, air-conditioning, commercial catering equipment, appliance repair and maintenance services across Defence, Government and commercial sites throughout the Northern Territory.

Following significant growth, including major Defence and NT Government contract work, we are looking for a capable General Manager to help lead the business through its next stage.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who understands technical service delivery, trade teams, customer expectations, commercial discipline and the importance of building a strong, accountable team.

About The Role

As General Manager, you will work closely with the Managing Director and leadership team to oversee the day-to-day performance, strategic direction and continued development of DRS.

You will help ensure the business is structured, proactive, commercially disciplined and able to deliver a high standard of service across a growing workload.

The role requires someone who can lead from the front, support and mentor team members, make sound decisions, manage competing priorities and help move the business forward strategically.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, support and develop the DRS team across service, projects, administration and operations.
- Build a culture of accountability, communication, professionalism and customer service.
- Provide technical and operational leadership across refrigeration, HVAC, catering equipment and appliance service work.
- Support planning, scheduling, job delivery, customer communication and workflow discipline.
- Monitor job performance, labour recovery, profitability, invoicing, WIP and operational KPIs.
- Help ensure service jobs, projects, planned maintenance and reactive work are delivered efficiently.
- Support quoting, tender responses, contract delivery and customer relationship management.
- Work with technicians, coordinators,



subcontractors and office staff to improve structure and follow-through.
- Identify operational risks early and implement practical solutions.
- Develop and report on key business priorities, KPIs, financial performance and improvement plans.
- Contribute to strategic planning, business development, systems improvement and long-term growth.
- Maintain strong standards around safety, compliance, documentation and service quality.

What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone with strong technical credibility and proven leadership capability.

You may come from a background such as General Manager, Service Manager, Operations Manager, Refrigeration/HVAC Manager, Electrical/Mechanical Services Manager, Facilities Maintenance Manager, or senior technical leader in a trade-based service business.

Ideally, you will bring:

- Trade background in refrigeration, air-conditioning, electrical, commercial appliances or commercial catering equipment.
- Strong understanding of field service, technicians, subcontractors, job planning and customer delivery.
- Proven experience leading, mentoring and holding teams accountable.
- Commercial awareness around job profitability, labour recovery, quoting, variations, WIP and margins.
- Ability to manage both day-to-day operational pressure and longer-term strategic priorities.
- Strong communication skills with technicians, customers, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams.
- Experience improving systems, reporting, processes and team operating rhythms.
- Confidence making decisions, setting priorities and following through.
- High standards around safety, compliance, documentation and customer service.




- Current Australian driver licence.

Highly Regarded

- Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
- Current Arctick licence.
- Electrical trade background or appliance repair experience.
- Experience with Defence, Government or high-compliance service environments.
- Experience with AroFlo, Xero, Microsoft Teams or similar systems.
- Experience managing P&L;, budgets, tenders, contracts or multi-site service delivery.
- Darwin or Northern Territory industry experience.

About You You are a practical, commercially aware leader who understands that strong service businesses are built on good people, explicit expectations, disciplined follow-through and reliable systems.

You do not need to be the loudest person in the room, but you do need to be able to lead. You can build trust with tradespeople, communicate clearly with customers, support office staff, make difficult decisions when required and keep the business moving in the right direction.

You are comfortable balancing immediate service pressure with strategic improvement. You can see where the business needs to go, but you also understand the importance of getting the basics right every day.
