GIFT SALES COORDINATOR

Full-time, permanent | Melbourne (on-site) | $60,000 + super + performance bonus

ABOUT OZANIMART

Ozanimart is a Melbourne-based wholesale distributor supplying more than 600 retailers across Australia and New Zealand. Our gift and collectibles division carries brands including Wooderful Life wooden music boxes, Ki-No-Ki puzzles, Iwako erasers, plush and licensed collectibles. We're a small team in a growing niche, and we sell to independent gift shops, toy stores, bookshops, tourist retail and national chains.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You'll own a portfolio of around 90 retail stockists - keeping them happy, keeping them ordering, and growing what they buy from us. This is a high-ownership role. Nobody will stand over you with a task list; you'll be given a portfolio, clear weekly numbers, and the freedom to work out how to hit them. If you need constant direction, this isn't the job. If you like being handed the keys and held to a result, it is.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

- Managing an existing portfolio of ~88 active retail accounts as their main point of contact
- Making proactive outbound contact - calls and emails - to around 20 accounts a week, and handling 12+ inbound enquiries
- Reactivating dormant accounts through structured outreach, not one-off calls
- Growing order value by introducing accounts to ranges they don't yet carry
- Processing orders and quotes in Odoo, and managing new retailer applications and onboarding
- Following up unpaid invoices and paid backorders on a weekly cycle
- Handling damage returns and product issues to a resolution the retailer is happy with
- Running our trade fair presence end to end - booth and exhibitor logistics, freight, catalogue and promotional material briefs, appointment bookings, lead capture, and the post-event follow-up sequence
- Maintaining account records in Monday.com and Close.io, and reporting your weekly numbers

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Integrity.

You do what you said you'd do, you own your mistakes early, and you tell us the awkward truth rather than the comfortable version
- Genuine initiative. You spot the thing that needs doing and do it, rather than waiting to be asked
- Solid phone manner. A large part of this job is picking up the phone and having a real conversation with a shop owner
- Clear, professional written English for retailer correspondence
- Reliability. You turn up, you're on time, and the work gets done on the days nobody is watching
- Openness to feedback. You'll be corrected and coached, and we need someone who takes that well and actually changes what they do
- Comfort with systems - ERP, CRM and project software. We'll train you on ours
- Prior experience in wholesale, retail, customer service or account management is an advantage, but attitude and coachability matter more to us than a resume

WHAT WE OFFER

- $60,000 + superannuation, plus a performance bonus once you've passed probation - tied to growing your portfolio, bringing quiet accounts back, and getting retailers into ranges they don't yet stock. It's paid on results you can influence directly, not on a manager's opinion of you
- A defined portfolio and real ownership of it, from your first month
- Direct access to the Director - no layers, decisions get made quickly
- Trade fair travel and exposure to the gift and collectibles industry
- A genuinely interesting product range, in a niche that's growing
- Training and support in a small team where your work is visible and matters

HOW TO APPLY Apply through Seek with your CV and a short cover note. A lot of this job is chasing things up, so in the note please answer one question in a few sentences: tell us about a time you had to follow up with someone more than once to get something done - what you tried, and whether it worked in the end. We're just as interested in the ones that didn't work.

NOTE: Applications without an answer to that question won't be shortlisted.
