About Board Matters

Board Matters is a specialist governance advisory firm working with boards, directors, CEOs and executive teams across Australia. We provide practical governance advice, undertake governance reviews, facilitate board evaluations, develop governance frameworks and deliver director education.

Our work sits at the intersection of governance, law and strategy. We help organisations strengthen governance practices through clear thinking, sound judgement and practical advice. About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional writer, researcher and critical thinker to join our advisory team.

This is not a traditional legal role. While a legal background is highly desirable, success in this position depends on your ability to analyse complex issues, exercise sound judgement and communicate clearly in writing. You will contribute to a wide variety of governance consulting projects, working across governance reviews, legal and governance research, board documentation, director education and thought leadership.

The role offers significant variety and the opportunity to develop specialist expertise in corporate governance. This role is not primarily a client relationship or business development role.

It is a hands-on position centred on research, analysis and drafting. You will spend much of your time developing high-quality written advice, governance resources and publications that support boards and executives which will be delivered by our expert team.

Key Responsibilities The successful applicant will spend the majority of their time researching, analysing and drafting governance advice, educational resources and client deliverables. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys the discipline of producing exceptional written work. Working as part,

and in support of, our advisory team, you will:

Prepare concise, well-structured written advice, briefing papers, reports and governance resources.

Review constitutions, governance frameworks, board charters, committee charters, governance policies and related documentation.

Undertake governance, legal and regulatory research across a broad range of governance topics.

Analyse legislation, case law and governance developments, identifying their practical implications for boards and directors.

Assist in preparing governance reviews and recommendations for clients.

Draft client presentations, conference papers, articles and educational material.

Prepare governance updates, legal summaries and publications for clients and the Board Matters website.

Assist consultants in preparing proposals, workshops and client projects.

Contribute to the ongoing development of Board Matters' governance resources and templates.
