A private family based in Toorak is seeking an experienced and trusted Household Cook / Private Chef to oversee the day-to-day operation of the household kitchen.

About the Role

You will be responsible for planning, preparing and coordinating daily meals for the household, ensuring the kitchen is well-organised, fully stocked and operating to a high standard.

Working Hours

· Monday to Friday, generally 9:00am to 5:00pm

· Flexibility is required from time to time to support family schedules and occasional evening/event entertaining, including Shabbat dinners (typically twice per month)

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner meals as required

· Plan weekly menus tailored to family preferences and dietary requirements

· Food preparation and batch cooking for the week ahead

· Grocery shopping and sourcing quality ingredients

· Stock control, pantry organisation and replenishment

· Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen workplace

· Undertake detailed kitchen cleaning and organisation





· Coordinate and direct food preparation assistants when required

· Prepare Shabbat dinners (typically twice per month)

· Collect food and kitchen supplies including fresh produce, meat, seafood and dry goods

· Assist with planning and oversight of catering for family functions and special events with catering staff

· Liaise with external caterers and service providers as required

About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:

· Experience as a Private Chef, Household Cook or Chef

· A passion for fresh, nutritious and high-quality food

· Strong meal planning and organisation skills

· Experience catering to dietary requirements and preferences

· High standards of cleanliness and kitchen presentation

· Professionalism, discretion and trustworthiness

· The ability to work independently and proactively

· Excellent attention to detail and a service-oriented mindset

· Current driver's licence and reliable transport
