An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced HR Product Owner to join our People Operations team. This newly created role will play a critical part in the ongoing ownership, governance and enhancement of our HR systems, with Dayforce as the initial core platform. The role is responsible for ensuring our HR technology supports compliant, efficient and user-centred processes across Core HR, Payroll, Workforce Management, Talent, Learning and related people functions.
Working closely with HR, Payroll, IT, external vendors and business stakeholders, you will act as the functional owner of our HR systems, balancing strategic priorities, operational requirements, compliance obligations and employee experience outcomes.
What You'll Achieve
As the HR Product Owner, you will drive the ongoing evolution of our HR systems and support model, ensuring technology investments deliver meaningful outcomes for employees, leaders and the broader business. You will provide governance and direction across system enhancements, releases, testing, support and continuous improvement while partnering with stakeholders to align business needs with system capability.
You Will
- Own and manage the HR systems product backlog, prioritising initiatives based on business value, employee impact, compliance requirements and operational risk.
- Define and maintain the HR systems roadmap in partnership with HR leadership, SMEs, IT and external partners.
- Lead release governance activities including impact assessments, business readiness, communications and testing coordination.
- Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure system changes support payroll accuracy, policy compliance and positive user experiences.
- Translate business requirements into clear functional requirements for technical teams, system administrators and vendors.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex HR systems issues, enhancements and change requests.
- Build strong relationships across HR, Payroll, IT and vendor partners to drive successful outcomes and service delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, controls, system adoption and employee experience.
- Monitor service performance, defect trends and stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities for ongoing optimisation.
What You'll Bring
- Demonstrated experience in HR systems, payroll, workforce management, HR operations, product ownership, business analysis or systems governance.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms and translating business requirements into functional solutions.
- Strong understanding of HR, payroll and workforce management processes, compliance requirements and data governance principles.
- Experience managing releases, testing, stakeholder engagement and system enhancements within a structured governance framework.
- Excellent stakeholder management,
facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to balance competing priorities while making informed decisions based on risk, compliance and business value.
- Experience with Dayforce, Workforce Management systems or enterprise HR platforms will be highly regarded. This is a recommendation based on the role's Dayforce ownership scope and not a requirement stated in the position description.
