This is a unique opportunity for a process safety professional to make a significant impact by shaping safety governance, strengthening risk management practices, and ensuring our facilities continue to operate to the highest standards.

About the Role

Reporting to the HSE leadership team, you will be the subject matter expert for MHF compliance and process safety, responsible for maintaining and enhancing Coregas' Safety Case, driving compliance obligations across sites, and supporting branch leaders in managing critical safety risks.

You will work closely with Operations, Engineering, HSE teams, Branch Managers, regulators, and external specialists to ensure robust process safety systems are embedded throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and continuously improve the Major Hazard Facility (MHF) Safety Case and associated compliance programs.
- Provide expert guidance to Branch Managers and operational leaders on MHF obligations and process safety requirements.




- Manage Hazardous Area Classification reviews, documentation, controls, and inspection programs.
- Develop and oversee performance standards for safety-critical controls and safety-critical elements.
- Own and report on process safety KPIs, driving accountability and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate and support HAZOPs, QRAs, Bowtie Reviews, LOPA studies, and other risk assessment processes.
- Maintain critical emergency planning, evacuation, and Dangerous Goods documentation.
- Lead internal audits, support external audits and regulatory interactions, and participate in incident investigations and Management of Change reviews.
- Promote a strong process safety culture through coaching, assurance activities, and capability development.

What You'll Bring

Qualifications

- Degree in Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Formal training in Process Safety, MHF compliance, Risk Management, or HAZOP facilitation is highly regarded.
- Diploma or Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety is advantageous.

Experience

- 5+ years' experience in: Major Hazard Facilities (MHF)



/Process Safety/ Chemical manufacturing/ Industrial gases/ High-hazard operations/ Petrochemical or similar regulated industries

Technical Expertise

Strong knowledge of: HAZOP/ Bowtie Analysis/ LOPA/ Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA)/ Risk Management Frameworks/ Safety Critical Elements & Controls/ Hazardous Area Management/ Dangerous Goods Compliance

Personal Attributes

- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Strong technical report writing and presentation capabilities.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across multiple sites.
- Passion for improving safety outcomes and driving operational excellence.
