The Role The acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is an historic and transformative endeavour for Australia. The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia’s economic and national security landscape for decades to come. As an APS 6 ICT System Administrator, you will be responsible for the operational capability of ICT networks owned and used by the ASA.

You will combine extensive technical ICT skills, service management and delivery, cyber security, systems and network administration and ICT solutions management in a complex and rapidly evolving environment. An eagerness to develop working knowledge of current and emerging technologies, including cloud-based services and network configuration in a high-security environment will set you up for success. The additional payment is a Building Capability Payment (BCP) which enables the ASA to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace.

Applicants engaged into a BCP position must consider the following. BCPs provide remuneration in addition to the ASA Enterprise Agreement (EA). This arrangement is subject to meeting eligibility criteria and is subject to annual review.

Should your performance fall beyond requirements, or the eligibility criteria not be met, your eligibility for the BCP may be reviewed and ceased. It may also be ceased should you change positions or the requirement for the BCP is no longer necessary, as determined by the ASA.

Should the BCP be ceased, you will be advised and your BCP additional payme nt will cease. Build effective working relationships with government and industry partners to deliver effective ICT support and services. Applicants may be required in Rockingham WA, Osborne SA and Majura ACT.

Control is seeking highly motivated individuals to fill multiple roles in the Information Systems team. As an ICT Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for enabling and supporting the ICT systems and infrastructure that will ensure that success of the program. Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills: Accountable to perform both routine and complex installations and deployments, including the ongoing support of hardware and software in line with ASA requirements.

Experience using technical, security and frameworks for service and change management, support processes, and administration of systems and networks within a fast-paced environment.

Support the design and implementation of solutions, adapt to changing circumstances and requirements, including the security and protection of ICT services within the Agency.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a complex, high security environment to meet organisational priorities and legislative requirements.
