Join the CEFC as Associate, Investment - Rewiring the Nation (RTN) and play a key role in delivering the Australian Government’s Rewiring the Nation program, a transformative program to decarbonise the electricity sector and build a resilient, clean energy grid. The Origination & Transactions function brings together sector-focused teams that originate, assess and progress CEFC investments. Within RTN, you will support the analysis, structuring and execution of nationally significant electricity grid and clean energy infrastructure investments.

You will gain exposure to a broad range of financial products as you contribute as part of multidisciplinary deal teams on transactions spanning transmission, grid and alternative fuels. This variety will help you build a broad mix of investment and sector skills across corporate loans, project finance, sector-specific finance, hybrids and equity. The role requires strong critical thinking and financial analysis capability, with equal emphasis on commercial judgement, financial modelling, written analysis, project management and stakeholder coordination.

We’re looking for a thoughtful, driven professional who wants to develop their transaction origination, analysis and execution skills while contributing to Australia’s energy transition. Energy and/or infrastructure finance experience is helpful but not essential, and we welcome transferable experience. The role you’ll play As an Associate - Investment in the RTN team you will:

Critically analyse debt, equity and hybrid investment opportunities, including financial statements, cashflow forecasts, business drivers, project risks and commercial assumptions

Develop,



review and use financial models to test assumptions, undertake sensitivity analysis and support investment decisions

Contribute to investment screening, credit assessment, due diligence, debt structuring, term sheet review and transaction documentation

Assist in the preparation of investment papers, briefing materials and presentations for senior executives, the Executive Investment Committee, Board and other decision-making forums

Support transaction origination and execution by coordinating internal processes, project timelines, client engagement, advisers and due diligence workstreams

Build your understanding of Australia’s electricity system and transmission sector, including regulation, Renewable Energy Zones, generation and demand, network planning, connection pathways and congestion

Undertake market and industry research to identify emerging opportunities and risks, collaborating with Legal, Risk, Finance, Technical and other internal teams to progress transactions To be successful in this role, you will bring: A minimum of two years’ experience in finance, investment, banking, advisory, consulting or a related field ; exposure to corporate lending, project finance or adjacent investment structures is highly regarded

Strong quantitative, analytical and critical thinking skills, including confidence building, reviewing and interrogating financial models and running sensitivity analysis A good working knowledge of accounting and financing concepts, including debt and equity, and the ability to analyse financial statements, cashflows and forecasts

Commercial curiosity and sound judgement,



with the ability to understand business drivers, test assumptions and develop practical recommendations

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear investment papers, briefing documents and presentations

Well-developed project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines A collaborative, accountable and low-ego approach, with the ability to work autonomously and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary teams A strong interest in decarbonisation, clean energy technology, energy markets and innovative finance
